Twenty years ago, Diane Sirakovsky, RN, BSN, PMHNP-BC, and Michele Teter, RN, BSN, CCRN, were ICU nurses at medical centers in New York City. This month, the Boca Raton Observer featured them in its Wonder Women section. Their story starts with a grandmother named Nan.
A problem we had to solve
Diane, Michele, and their lifelong friend Gregory Solometo co-founded TrustHouse together. When Gregory's grandmother, Nan, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and needed care at home, the three of them saw how few good options there were.
"This is a problem we have to solve," they said.
What started in Diane's home office now serves clients in New York, New Jersey, and Boston, and last year expanded to Palm Beach County.
Nurses leading nurses
TrustHouse matches experienced registered nurses with clients for proactive health management, chronic disease management, post-surgical recovery, and other skilled nursing care. Today we have more than 45 internal staff members, nearly half of them registered nurses, and more than 350 field nurses nationwide.
"Having nursing leadership makes a difference when we talk with patients, their families and their doctors and when we decide on the right care team for each client at home," Diane says.
Care before there's a crisis
RN Signature® is our membership program built around prevention and nursing. It includes monthly nurse visits, personal wellness assessments, care management, and monitoring focused on early identification and intervention.
"Home care isn't just for when you're sick," Michele says. "Most people don't realize the value of having a nurse in their corner until they experience it firsthand."
The Grandma Rule®
Everything comes back to one rule: hire only nurses you'd trust to care for your own grandmother.
"That's truly our passion," Diane says. "We care for every client the way we cared for Nan."
