Meet Barbara
Behind every health decision is a person with a life they love, people they care about and places they still want to go.
In Their Own Words
What does living well mean to you?
I get up every morning and swim a mile to a mile and a half. I work out in the gym. I take clients out. I love sharing my lifestyle with people because I think it's the best, healthiest lifestyle.
What does HOME mean to you?
My home is much more than a house. It has collections of all the things I've gathered from all my travels around the world. It has the art that I've collected. It has my photographs of my children, lots of memories, lots of warmth. And it's a place I feel safe and I enjoy being. I think that your house is a place of comfort, especially as you age.
What do you want to preserve the most?
I think it's really important to be around things that are familiar and lovely. I would never want my children being burdened with taking care of me. I'd rather my children remember me as a happy, healthy person than as an old, sick person.
What MAKES A GREAT NURSE?
If I were to recommend to my friends an ideal health plan as they age, I would suggest that they work to have a nurse that oversees their care. A nurse is a gatekeeper. A nurse is caring. A nurse is compassionate. A nurse notices things that doctors might miss. A nurse is kind. A nurse is competent. They're just wonderful.
